  TESTING & DESIGN

To ensure complete safety, Koller products are tested to the lastest European and International standards.  All products are manufactured strictly in accordance to ISO 9001:2000.  Testing is carried out at recognised independent test houses, such as MIRA, STATUS, TRL,TUV and where appropriate, VCA approved.

WHEELCHAIR & WHEELCHAIR OCCUPANT RESTRAINTS

Koller webbing restraints feature quick-action securing mechanisms for easy operation and quick release in the event of an emergency.
For maximum security, "closed-end" fittings are used, preventing detachment of the restraint from the wheelchair.

Test:
  • ISO 10542 dynamic (crash) test, 85kg surrogate wheelchair, 76.3kg dummy, 20g at 48km/h.
Koller restraints are often tested far in excess of the above test - see maximum wheelchair weights under each product.
Components conforming to UN/ECE regulation No.16 are used in the manufacture of webbing restraints.

REMOVABLE SEAT FIXINGS

Koller removable seat fixings have been tested with a diversity of seats, both on test "rigs" and in-vehicle.  All removable seat fixings feature easy to operate locking / anti rattle mechanisms.  A safe seat installation is achieved while retaining the easy ability to alter the vehicle layout.

Test:

ECE 14.04 and EEC Directive 76/115 as amended by 96/38/EEC, to M2 and M1 loads:
  • M2 load: 13.5kN + (10 x seat mass)
  • M1 load: 27kN + (20 x seat mass)
Note: The above loads are for forward facing seats with integral lap and diagonal belts.

RAIL

Koller rail forms the basis to configure a vehicle's seating layout, by allowing the easy fitting and removal of seats and wheelchair restraints.  It is used in the testing of removable seat fixings and wheelchair / wheelchair occupant restraints.  Generally, unless in-vehicle, rail centres of 330mm are used.

Note: Unless proven through in-vehicle testing, rail (and seat anchorage) fitting may be subject to certain minimum installation requirements, i.e. for SVA test.
