Taxi Restraint
The Koller Taxi Wheelchair Restraint is designed to secure wheelchairs in smaller vehicles (such as taxis), or where it is not desirable or possible to fit rail. Two “blocks” bolted through the floor accept removable front and rear wheelchair tie-down straps.
The front and rear tie-down straps are attached to stainless steel rings (creating a “V” shape) enabling easy fitting or removal from the floor “blocks”.
Front straps are fixed in length, while the rear straps’ length can be adjusted using the Excel over-centre buckles. These buckles are also used to tension the system, providing secure wheelchair anchorage in the event of an impact. Sideways movement of the wheelchair during transit is also prevented, thus aiding occupant safety, comfort and peace of mind. Heavy-duty webbing and “closed-end” fittings are used throughout for safety, strength and durability.
