Koller Helps to Bolster Fleets with Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Products

Published: 9th March 2021

Koller Engineering is supporting coach and bus companies to meet Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulation (PSVAR) requirements with a variety of wheelchair accessible vehicle products to help in the conversion process.

The PSVAR regulations have been applied to all new buses and coaches introduced since 31 December 2000 which carry more than 22 passengers and are used on local or scheduled services. All buses weighing up to 7.5 tonnes have been required to be fully accessible since 1 January 2015 and coaches since 1 January 2020. The conditions include a space for a wheelchair with suitable safety provisions. To help to fulfil this necessity, Koller has a number of wheelchair restraint and rail options to meet specific requirements.

Andy Nurrish, Koller Sales Manager said: “As we start to come out of lockdown and services look to slowly emerge again, many companies are starting to think about getting their vehicles ready and back on the road. They are therefore looking at the equipment they have available for those who require wheelchair access.

“Thanks to our UK-based manufacturing facilities, which includes CNC machining, sewing and assembly workshops, we can produce products like wheelchair restraints or floor rail and seat fixtures quickly and efficiently. We also carry stock and are ready to despatch many of our products at short notice so companies can work on converting their vehicles to meet PSVAR regulations.

“With an experienced and dedicated team we always ensure that everyone receives the same personal service, whether they order one wheelchair restraint, or place an order for a fleet of 200 vehicles. We are ready to offer advice and the most suitable products to those looking for solutions to the conversion process.”
